Some Photos from San Jose / Santa Cruz Trip

My wife and I had a nice trip to San Jose where we visited the Winchester Mystery House. The house is very cool, but they wouldn't let us take any pictures inside the house, and many of the rooms had no furniture. What they did have, was not original. A bit of a disappointment, especially at the price of $30 / person. Still, the history was interesting. I most likely will take another tour at the price, and certainly not if I can't take pictures.

Stained Glass Window actually inside the men's bathroom if you can believe that! LOL

From the Reno National Auto Museum

When shooting at car shows, it's often hard to get the entire car in the shot without people in the photo or the ropes and signs by each car. So, I like to take photos with different angles and crops to keep all that stuff out of the shot but still make an interesting photo.

Ghosts in Virginia City Nevada?

Kathy and I want to visit Virginia City, Nevada near Reno. There are supposed to be lot's of ghosts there. Not sure about that, but we thought it would be cool to go see :)

Apparently, Ghost Trackers has been there to investigate them. We took several pictures there too. They talk about Orbs, just little circles of light in photos that they think are ghosts. I think the orbs are just lens flare from lights and camera flash.

Well, I may have found my own ghost and it's not a little circle of light! I have some pictures here, I'll let you decide for yourself. Looks like a man in a white suit with a tie poking his head out through the wall. There was no one back there when I took this.

Photos from Virginia City Trip

This is on the way to Virginia City near Reno Nevada. I liked the color of the rocks and how they looked against the background.

Photos of the Day 5/2/2011 - Water Drops

I've always wanted to try this, just never got around to it. So, finally I setup everything I needed on my kitchen table (bowl of water, lights, a bag full of water with a pin hole in it dripping water in a consistent flow of drops and of course my camera).  I set the camera up and put it in continuous shooting mode (rapid fire or machine gun mode as I like to call it). With the camera on a tripod, set and focused on the area where the drops were falling, I just started shooting for a while and reviewed what I have. I changed camera settings a few times and did it again and then looked for my favorite shots!
